Meau, operated by Michelle Ung and Hou Yin Bryan Cheung (collectively referred to as "Meau"), are committed to managing personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles ("APPs") under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) ("Privacy Act") and in accordance with other applicable privacy laws.
This document sets out our policies for managing your personal information applicable during the beta testing phase of Meau and will be updated prior to public release. It is referred to as our Beta Privacy Policy.
In this Beta Privacy Policy, "we" and "us" refers to Meau and "you" refers to any individual about whom we collect personal information.
About Meau
Meau is an early-stage unincorporated startup entity developing and operating an independent productivity application ("Meau"). Meau is developed and operated by Michelle Ung and Hou Yin Bryan Cheung. We engage contractors and service providers to assist in the development and operation of Meau.
Meau intends to develop an app which offers a complete range of services, including a full-service accountability-based reminder and task-setting digital platform.
What information does Meau collect about you?
When you access or use Meau as a beta tester, we may collect and hold personal information about you in connection with your use of Meau.

- device and usage information, including device type, operating system and activity within Meau;

We collect personal information reasonably necessary to operate, test, maintain and improve Meau during its beta testing phase.

- enable your participation as a beta tester;

- third-party suppliers and contractors who assist us to operate our business.
We also collect and use personal information for the purposes of operating the beta version of Meau, improving its functionality, and supporting your use of Meau.

How does Meau interact with you via the internet?
You may use Meau without providing personal information where it is not required. However, if you identify yourself (for example, by signing up, using Meau or contacting us), any personal information you provide to Meau will be managed in accordance with this Beta Privacy Policy.
We may collect limited technical information when you use Meau, such as device type, operating system, IP address, and usage data, to help us operate and improve Meau.
At present, we do not operate a public website. This Beta Privacy Policy applies to your use of Meau and any related online interactions with us. If we launch a website or other online services, we will handle any personal information collected through those services in accordance with this Beta Privacy Policy, as updated from time to time.

Can you deal with Meau anonymously?
We will provide individuals with the opportunity of remaining anonymous or using a pseudonym in their dealings with us where it is lawful and practicable (for example, when making a general enquiry). Generally, it is not practicable for Meau to deal with individuals anonymously or pseudonymously on an ongoing basis. If we do not collect personal information about you, you may be unable to utilise our services or participate in our events, programs or activities we manage or deliver.

We store information in electronic form and may use third-party service providers (including cloud storage, analytics and infrastructure providers) to assist in operating Meau. You will not be charged for making a request to access your personal information, but you may be charged for the reasonable time and expense incurred in compiling information in response to your request.
We will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up to date. You can help us to do this by letting us know if you notice errors or discrepancies in information we hold about you and letting us know if your personal details change.
However, if you consider any personal information we hold about you is inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading you are entitled to request correction of the information. After receiving a request from you, we will take reasonable steps to correct your information.
We may decline your request to access or correct your personal information in certain circumstances in accordance with the APPs. If we do refuse your request, we will provide you with a reason for our decision and, in the case of a request for correction, we will include a statement with your personal information about the requested correction.

You may contact Meau at any time if you have any questions or concerns about this Beta Privacy Policy or about the way in which your personal information has been handled.
If your complaint requires more detailed consideration or investigation, we will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within a reasonable timeframe and endeavour to complete our investigation into your complaint promptly. We may ask you to provide further information about your complaint and the outcome you are seeking. We will then typically gather relevant facts, locate and review relevant documents and speak with individuals involved.
If you are not satisfied with our response to your complaint, a complaint may be made to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
